I have always been passionate about health and fitness and it is my aim to help my clients to become fitter and healthier both for today and the future.
I help my clients achieve their aspirations by creating a huge shift in their lifestyle and mind set. My aim is to enable them to achieve their goals whether it is to lose weight, increase muscle tone, get stronger, improve their sporting performance or to show them the quickest way back from injury so they are moving freely and with less pain.
In my opinion traditional training has concentrated too much on one plane of movement and isolating individual joints and the muscles associated with it. This isn’t how we move. We move three dimensionally using many different muscles, most of the time. Our bodies move as an integrated system not as isolated units. So if you are training in one plane your training will be less successful and potentially lead to muscular imbalance and injury.
My approach to training is to train for function in other words to become better at what we do. The workouts I give my clients are 3 dimensional, using whole body movements, and utilising momentum and gravity. Having gained a degree in Sport Science and more recently the FASTER Diploma in Functional Performance I have an understanding of human movement and a thought process which enables me to get the best out of my clients.
